Apippa’s Custom Price Calculator now works without creating new Shopify variants for every custom product configuration.

How It Works

Before:

Every custom option generated a unique Shopify variant through the API, causing:

  • Slow add-to-cart times
  • One-off “junk” variants cluttering your product list
  • Confusing variants in product feeds and Google Shopping

Now:

All custom pricing and selections are stored as line-item properties, with no new variants created.

  • Works with all themes and cart drawers
  • Custom details show clearly in the cart
  • And in the Shopify admin, order details for easier fulfillment

Important Notes:




In this mode, the Advanced Settings options for weight, cost, SKU, and location per custom configuration are no longer needed as the custom product will always contain the parent product’s information. 


If these features are important for your workflow, please contact support to discuss options to convert over to the new settings.


How to Enable

For new installs after December 24th, 2025, this mode is enabled automatically. No action is required to use it.

For stores installed before December 24th, 2025, please reach out to support to enable this feature

For stores installed before December 24th, 2025 reach out to support. After they enable this for you, the next time you open the app you will be asked to approve new scopes. Approve them, and the new flow will work automatically.

  • Will this affect my current setup?

No. Existing merchants will continue using variant-based pricing until they choose to switch.


  • What impact does this have on product feeds?

Your feeds will be cleaner without random custom variants appearing.


  • Can I revert back to the old mode?

Contact support if you need assistance reverting after testing the new experience.
